Gateway to a Journey Seeking Inner Liberation

It is a unique facility that makes it possible for visitors to come into contact with the multi-faceted Buddhist sanctuary with a history of more than 1,200 years.
The complex includes “VR Theater” offering an immersive virtual experience of the Koyasan cultural heritages, “Koyasan Café Shizuku” offering local foods and specialties, and “Museum Shop” providing with exclusive gifts and souvenirs.

VR Theater

The theater features a 250 inch screen and a high-luminance 4K projector with dynamic 7.1ch surround system. A navigator guides you through the virtual Danjo Garan Complex, providing you with a wonderful and immersive VR experience.
The theater itself represents Koyasan architectural heritage, with chairs and walls made of aromatic Koya-reiboku, along with the kohshi-tenjo, a traditional ceiling design for temples.

When Shingon's founder Kobo Daishi Kukai returned from his training in China, he brought back two mandalas that became central to Shingon ritual. “Danjo Garan Complex”, which is one of the greatest sacred sites in Koyasan, embodies “the land of mandala”.

The VR content enables you to explore the inside of Saito, which is not usually open to public, or to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Complex.
